Endodontistry (Root Canal Treatment)

Dr. Swenson received his B.S. Degree in Biology with Honors from the University of Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and received a DDS Degree in 1985. Dr. Swenson completed an Endodontic residency (2 year specialization) and Masters Degree in Dentistry in 1994, also from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Swenson is married to his wife, Gail, and has two daughters and one son.

Dr. Swenson completed his Board Certification in Endodontics in 2002 and has received Diplomate status.

My goal is to provide compassionate care in a relaxed, state-of-the-art environment. This includes a Dental Operating Microscope that allows the absolute best possible care. I will educate you and explain all parts of the procedure. An endodontic (root canal) procedure should be no more difficult than any other cosmetic dentistry procedure, such as dental implants and most patients should leave the office with little or no discomfort. Antibiotics and/or pain medication may be prescribed in conjunction with treatment.

Board Certification is the highest level of achievement in Endodontics. The American Board of Endodontics Diplomate status is awarded to qualified endodontists (root canal specialists) who have demonstrated diagnostic skill, clinical proficiency, and professional judgment of a level that ensures the highest quality of care for cosmetic dentistry patients. They have taken an examination administered by a panel of experts of their peers and have demonstrated an exemplary level of knowledge, understanding, and clinical expertise. Less than 25% of Endodontists are Board Certified.
